Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work

Our award in emergency first aid at work is a minimum six-hour programme (one day) for those who wish to gain knowledge of emergency procedures and gain a recognised qualification in first aid. Where an employer's assessment of first aid needs identifies that a three-day first aid at work qualification is not necessary, the minimum employers requirement is to appoint a person to take charge of first aid arrangements.

Who needs emergency first aid at work?

The minimum employers requirement is to appoint a person to take charge of first aid arrangements, which includes looking after the first aid equipment and facilities, and calling emergency services when required. Arrangements should be made for an appointed person to be available for these duties at all times when people are at work. Note that appointed persons are not first aiders and should not attempt to give first aid for which they have not been trained.
